The New York Giants had a rough outing against the Los Angeles Rams in primetime on Monday night, losing starting quarterback Jaxson Dart to a sprained MCL injury in the first quarter. Concerns for the Giants didn't stop there. A few plays later, star wide receiver Malik Nabers went down in some serious pain after an attempted reception from backup QB Jameis Winston.
Nabers was attended to by medical staff on the sideline and listed as questionable to return. Fortunately for the Giants, Nabers returned in the second quarter. After the game, the 23-year-old wideout told reporters that he had to pop his shoulder back into place before re-joining his teammates on the field.
Gonna get an X-ray on it, see what's going on. I was out there, trying to just come back out. We had lost [Jaxson Dart], so I didn't want to give the team another loss," Nabers said postgame.
While he was able to return to the field, Nabers didn't do much in his "Monday Night Football" outing, reeling in just one catch for one yard in the lopsided 28-6 loss. The Giants will look to get back on track in a Week 3 matchup against the Tennessee Titans this coming Sunday.
