Montes is one of Brazil's most popular writers and the mind behind recent hits such as 'Good Morning, Verônica' and 'Perfect Days' Media and entertainment group Banijay Entertainment has greenlit an adaptation of Raphael Montes’s “Uma Mulher No Escuro” (“A Woman in the Dark”) for Globoplay. The project will be led by Banijay’s Brazilian scripted label, A Fábrica, and is developed in partnership with the author’s development studio Casa Montes. The project was known to be in development at A Fábrica.
Its Globoplay greenlight looks set to be announced at an Spotlight, “Inside Banijay’s Fiction Strategy: the Motor og Global IPs ” held on Sept. 30 afternoon at Madrid’s Iberseries & Platino Industria. Montes is one of Brazil’s best-selling authors, Brazil’s very own king of crime and a massively in-demand author-screenwriter. Montes has become one of the most successful IP-generating powerhouses in the South American giant, with Netflix’s popular “Good Morning, Verônica” and Globoplay hit “Perfect Days” performing very well with audiences and critics alike.
The author also recently collaborated with A Fábrica on Netflix’s “A Estranha na Cama.” His books have sold over a million copies worldwide and have been published in more than 25 countries.
