Manager Jim Goodwin may not be in the Dundee United dugout for Saturday's Scottish Premiership match at Kilmarnock after taking ill and being admitted to hospital on Thursday. Assistant Lee Sharp took first-team training at United's St Andrews base on Friday and also assumed pre-match media duties in 44-year-old Goodwin's absence. "He is OK, I spoke to him last night and I spoke to him again this morning and he was in good spirits," Sharp said on Friday.

"I don't really know much to be honest, I just asked him how he was and he just said they took him in yesterday and he felt unwell and they are keeping him in for observation." Dundee United have one point after three Premiership matches while Saturday's opponents Killie are yet to register a point this term after two games. Sharp was asked if he expects to be taking the team at Rugby Park and replied: "I have absolutely no idea, it is playing it by ear at the moment just to see. "I will catch up with him later on today and see what happens, it is no more than that really, I really don't know."
