A huge Lake Ontario sign has been unveiled next to the lake after Donald Trump signed an order to rename it "Lake America." Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario, vowed that the lake's name, which is more than 400 years old, would remain unchanged, regardless of the US president's actions. "We'll never, ever back down from a bully, ever," he added. Lake Ontario borders both the Canadian province of Ontario and the US state of New York.
Mr Trump's executive order applies to US federal usage about the lake, and does not govern what Canada, international bodies or other organisations call it.
