Indiana WR Being Hyped as Future Top-10 NFL Draft Pick

An Indiana Hoosiers wide receiver may have a bright future ahead of him in the NFL.

The 2025 Indiana Hoosiers were the toast of college football, putting up an undefeated National Championship season at a program where making a bowl game at all had been a signficant achievement. Quarterback Fernando Mendoza and other stars of last year's squad may have left, but talent remains — including one wide receiver who could be a top pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. That receiver, Charlie Becker, is poised for greatness, agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN's Pat McAfee on "The Pat McAfee Show." "One of our NIL guys is Charlie Becker, who I think is a future NFL star," Rosenhaus said.

"I can tell you, we had the No. 1 wide receiver in the draft last year in Carnell Tate, and I think Becker is going to be a top 10 pick." Becker is certainly trending toward that direction. As a sophomore in 2025, Becker led the Big Ten with 20.0 yards per catch, totaling 679 yards and four touchdowns. Those are solid, if not eye-popping, numbers for an underclassman, but he had a huge start to his junior campaign.

In the Hoosiers' season-opening 52-16 rout of North Texas, Becker caught four passes for 64 yards and a pair of touchdowns, already reaching half of his total output from last season. Becker has already earned the respect of his new quarterback, Josh Hoover, reports Ian Plaskoff of Inside the Hall. It’s fun for a quarterback to look out there and see a guy like that that’s just so competitive and wants to make plays.

That’s what he does best.” It seems NFL draft analysts have noted Becker's talent, too. TJ Inman of Indiana Hoosiers on SI detailed three different draft analysts have Becker going in the first round. "Much can, and will, change during the season, but Becker is listed in several prominent mock drafts," Inman wrote.

"Justin Melo of Sports Illustrated has Becker going number 23 to the Dallas Cowboys, Justin Wilson of CBS Sports has the IU star at number 12 to the Atlanta Falcons. ESPN’s Jordan Reid has Becker going in the top ten to the Washington Commanders." If Becker keeps it up, don't be surprised if the number of analysts ranking Becker continues to grow — and if more of them prove Rosenhaus right and put Becker in the top 10.
