DASH stock has increased 34.8% over the past three months, outperforming the broader S&P 500 Index's ($SPX) 2.9% rise over the same time frame. Shares of DoorDash have fallen 10.4% on a YTD basis, lagging behind SPX's 11.7% gain. In the longer term, shares of the company have decreased 21.3% over the past 52 weeks, compared to the 16.1% return of the SPX over the same time frame.
Yet, the stock has been trading above its 200-day moving average since late July. DoorDash shares rose 2.9% following its Q2 2026 results on Aug. 5 as marketplace gross order value surged 36% to $33.08 billion and adjusted EBITDA jumped 40% to $914 million, beating the analyst estimates. The company also issued stronger-than-expected Q3 guidance, forecasting marketplace GOV of $33 billion - $34 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $950 million $1.10 billion, signaling continued demand for food, grocery, and convenience deliveries.
Investor sentiment was further supported by DoorDash's expansion into grocery and retail, growing DashPass adoption, and investments in drone and autonomous delivery that could strengthen its logistics network and customer retention. In comparison, rival Coupang, Inc. (CPNG) has lagged behind DASH stock. CPNG stock has dropped 35.5% on a YTD basis and 53.1% over the past 52 weeks.
