Moshe Rosenthal’s “Tell Me Everything” continues to build momentum after winning 10 Ophir Awards, including best picture, best director and best screenplay, from a record-breaking 16 nominations. Israel’s submission for the international feature Oscar, the father-son drama has secured a string of international sales, including France (Maverick), as well as Australia and New Zealand (Moving Story) and Indonesia (PT Falcon). HBO CEE has also picked up digital rights across Central and Eastern Europe.
The film premiered in Sundance’s World Cinema Dramatic Competition and has since screened at nearly 30 international festivals. Set against the pop culture boom of the late 1980s and the growing HIV epidemic, “Tell Me Everything” follows 12-year-old Boaz, who discovers a devastating secret about the father he idolizes. The revelation threatens to tear his family apart and leaves a wound that follows him into adulthood as he tries to rebuild the bond with his father.
The film stars newcomer Yair Mazor and Ido Tako (The Vanishing Soldier”). Assi Cohen, one of Israel’s biggest comedy stars, takes on a rare dramatic role as Boaz’s father, while Keren Tzur (“Karaoke”) plays his mother. Mor Dimri and Neta Orbach also star.
The film has since screened at more than 90 festivals, won a dozen awards and is being developed for remakes in several territories, including North America and Germany. Émilie Georges and Naima Abed of Paradise City, whose credits include “Call Me by Your Name,” “Drift” and “Atropia,” are co-producers. Executive producers are Jonathan Margolis, Isaac Zablocki, Fred Toczek, Sharon Chazin Lieblein and Limor Gott Ronen.
