Cincinnati Bengals superstar wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase gave the team a scare on Tuesday, limping off the practice field after landing awkwardly on a deep-ball route. Chase was able to walk off the field under his own power. He was briefly evaluated by the Bengals' head trainer before returning to the team's offensive sideline.
Chase did not return to action, but this injury doesn't appear to be a long-term issue. After practice, Chase joined ESPN Radio to provide an encouraging update on his status. The All-Pro wide receiver said he's "good" and that the injury to his knee was just a "little hyperextension," according to team insider Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Chase also said he could have returned to action if he needed to. The Bengals will likely be cautious with Chase for the remainder of the preseason, which will conclude with a matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles this Friday. Cincinnati will open up its regular-season schedule with a Week 1 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sept. 13.
