Jacksonville Jaguars fourth-year wide receiver Parker Washington has been sidelined with an undisclosed injury this week, but the team now knows when he should be back on the field. According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, Washington is expected to return to practice next week after missing this week's preseason game against the Carolina Panthers. That is certainly good news as there has been very little reported on Washington's injury, which led some people to think worst case scenario.
However, it seems the Jaguars have dodged a potentially big bullet to their offense. Washington is coming off a breakout season, during which he recorded a career-high 58 catches for 847 yards and five touchdowns in 16 games, and some have even tabbed him as the team's best wide receiver throughout training camp. The Jaguars would probably be just fine if Washington were to have to miss some time with a fairly loaded wide receiver room, including Brian Thomas Jr., Jakobi Meyers and Travis Hunter, among others.
But having him will only make their pass attack that much stronger. Washington began his professional career as a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Penn State. Through his first three seasons, he has racked up 106 catches for 1,369 yards and 10 touchdowns.
