An ESPN analyst believes quarterback Jalen Hurts' blood clot could alter the Philadelphia Eagles' long-term future.

Jalen Hurts will miss at least one game after doctors found a superficial blood clot in his calf. An ESPN analyst wondered if the health concern will have long-term ramifications for the Philadelphia Eagles. "Football-wise, this is a potentially franchise-changing moment and situation in Philly," Dan Orlovsky said on Friday's Get Up.

"How long is Jalen Hurts gonna be out for?" The Eagles said Thursday that Hurts underwent an ultrasound on Saturday that revealed the blood clot, but their medical team determined that the quarterback could safely play. He amassed 220 yards and a touchdown in a 19-17 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. Hurts fully practiced on Wednesday, but a follow-up ultrasound later that evening showed "movement in the small blood clot." The Eagles ruled him out for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers, but the 28-year-old could sit much longer.

Orlovsky wondered how the situation could affect Hurts' future with the Eagles amid a pivotal season for him and the organization. "We all know, going into this season, this was a really big year for Hurts and his future with the team. ... Is [offensive coordinator] Sean Mannion gonna be the guy at that position long term?

Is Jalen Hurts gonna be with him long term?" Orlovsky asked. "Is Jalen Hurts gonna be the quarterback there long term? There's no guaranteed money." The former NFL quarterback noted that the Eagles drafted Hurts in the second round a year after signing Carson Wentz to a four-year contract with $107.9 million guaranteed.

"This organization, for 30 years, knows the quarterback off-ramp," Orlovsky said. This has a chance to be totally franchise-altering." The Eagles have lost three straight games, the last without Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith, and traded Cam Jurgens the day after fellow Pro Bowl offensive lineman Lane Johnson retired. Hurts' blood clot creates another massive question mark.
