Jimmy Kimmel is returning to Brooklyn for a week of “Live!” shows at the end of September, according to People. This marks the eighth time the late-night host has traveled to the borough to tape. The shows, which take place at the Academy of Music’s Howard Gilman Opera House, will be taped from Monday, Sept. 28 to Friday, Oct. 2 in front of a live audience.

Guests will be revealed at a later date. Kimmel also did a round of “Live!” broadcasts from Brooklyn in 2025, notably hosting fellow “The Late Show” frontman Stephen Colbert, who at the time had recently been canceled by ABC. Kimmel first played the BAM in 2012 and returned to the venue in 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022.

Kimmel recently returned from a three-month break from hosting “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” which typically records at Hollywood’s El Capitan Entertainment Centre. In his place, Kimmel had Rosie O’Donnell, Colman Domingo, Jelly Roll, Tiffany Haddish, Anthony Anderson and Ike Barinholtz fill in as host. Tuesday, which saw Kimmel return, marked the 4,000th episode of “Live!” On Monday night, Kimmel is competing at the Emmy Awards for outstanding variety series.

It would be his fourth win if he takes home the 2026 prize. In an effort to drum up support for his former colleague, Colbert posted a video on Instagram in late August encouraging Academy members to vote for Kimmel, even though he is competing against him.
