The New York Giants will begin the John Harbaugh coaching era with a Week 1 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night. In preparation for this season-opening clash, Harbaugh sat down with former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach turned NFL analyst Mike Tomlin to discuss a variety of topics — one of which was the development of second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart. Dart impressed in his debut season with the Giants in 2025, completing 63.7% of his pass attempts for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions through 12 starts in 14 games.
He also rushed for 487 yards and nine additional scores on the ground. Harbaugh watched Dart from afar in 2025, but now has a good look at the QB up close and personal. I genuinely love the guy for who he is.
I see him as a nephew," Harbaugh told Tomlin. "He's even more talented than I thought he was. ... He really has a great pocket presence – he understands the pocket, he feels it.
Then he can get out and move and he can make plays. He's got a patience and poise about him." The Giants will host the Cowboys for a highly-anticipated Week 1 clash, which will kick off at 8:20 p.m.
