The Philadelphia 76ers have two massive additions joining the team this coming season: LeBron James and Jaylen Brown. The 76ers landed Brown in a blockbuster trade with the Eastern Conference-rival Boston Celtics in early July. And a few weeks later, James ended his highly-publicized free agency process by signing a two-year contract with Philadelphia.
James and Brown joined 76ers point guard Tyrese Maxey for a preseason workout on Wednesday, training with Chris Johnson in Los Angeles. "Jaylen Brown joined new Sixers teammates LeBron James and Tyrese Maxey for an early-morning workout conducted by trainer Chris Johnson in L.A. on Wednesday. Johnson posted photos of the workout on his Instagram," NBA insider Dave McMenamin of ESPN reported.
In addition to James, Brown and Maxey, the 76ers' projected starting lineup also features 2022-23 league MVP Joel Embiid and rising NBA star VJ Edgecombe. Philadelphia is one of the leading favorites to win the Eastern Conference with this stacked roster. The 76ers will begin their 2026-27 season with an Opening Day matchup against the reigning NBA-champion New York Knicks on Oct. 20.
