In news that might not surprise anyone, Liam and Noel Gallagher skipped the Venice Film Festival press conference for their upcoming Disney+ documentary “Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger” on Saturday. The two brothers — who reunited last year for their massive “Live ’25” tour after a 15-year feud — arrived on the Lido in a boat, took photos for the film’s photocall and then left before the conference. Present at the presser were co-directors Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace as well as Steven Knight, who is credited as the creator of the doc.

Asked during the presser why the Gallaghers weren’t on hand, Lovelace said: “They were here a second ago having their photograph taken, so they are here,” but did not elaborate further. The brothers were apparently never scheduled to appear at the conference, though journalists and fans in the room seemed to not be aware of this. Variety has reached out to representatives for Oasis and Disney for comment.

Liam and Noel have been press shy as a pair since their reunion, only sitting for an interview together for “Don’t Look Back in Anger” — their first in 20 years. The documentary, which is world premiering at Venice on Saturday night, releases in theaters Sept. 11 before bowing on Disney+ later this year, boasts footage of the band both backstage and onstage. The brothers also may have wanted to dodge questions regarding rumors about a new tour, with the band posting cryptic teasers on social media the past two days.

Noel Gallagher also nodded to a potential 2027 tour in an interview with Talksport recently, saying: “Let’s put it this way: there’s no football tournament on next year, so we’ve got to do something in the summer, right?” In an interview with Variety, Southern and Lovelace broke down how they went about capturing the Liam and Noel’s reunion, including setting up hidden cameras in their rehearsal space. We didn’t want it to feel like there’s an annoying camera crew running around getting in their way,” Southern said.
