Lucy Davis has thanked fans for their support in her first public appearance since she revealed her diagnosis of incurable breast cancer. The actor, who is best known for her role as Dawn Tinsley in The Office, said earlier this month that her stage four breast cancer had spread to her bones, making it “too late” for chemotherapy. She wrote on social media: “As of now, I’m trying to live out whatever might be left of my life in as fun a way as I possibly can.
I’m at peace with it.” The 53-year-old appeared at a sci-fi convention at Excel London on Saturday, where she spoke about the 2004 comedy Shaun of the Dead, in which she played Dianne. She was reunited with her movie co-star Simon Pegg and director Edgar Wright, who shared a selfie of the trio on Instagram after the event. Davis, 53, needed assistance to reach the stage for her 30-minute appearance at the For The Love Of Fantasy & Sci-Fi convention.

During the panel, she also shared stories of filming Shaun Of The Dead, which also included Nick Frost and Dylan Moran in the cast. When asked for her favourite memories on set, she said: “Camaraderie. In terms of actually filming, I loved when we all pretended to be zombies and walked across the square; it was like being naughty school kids.
