Fox News on Sept. 3 said it parted ways with Bartiromo, who joined as an anchor at both Fox Business Network and Fox News Channel in 2013.

The following day, Bartiromo‘s attorney, Bryan Freedman, said that she had not been fired by Fox and suggested she was ready to take the company to court. Citing a source familiar with the situation, Variety reported that Fox News believes Bartiromo shared with the White House a directive from network bosses cautioning staffers against supporting outlandish claims made by Trump. Bartiromo had wanted to pursue a story about Trump’s claims in a July 16 speech, in which he alleged China had illegally accessed millions of voter files to try to manipulate U.S. elections in 2018 and 2020, media industry newsletter Status reported.
