The Miami Marlins have made a roster move, as they have designated relief pitcher John King for assignment.

The Miami Marlins are moving on from one of their veteran pitchers. The Marlins have announced that they have designated relief pitcher John King for assignment. In addition, the Marlins shared that they have called up pitcher Jack Ralston from Triple-A Jacksonville.

King appeared in 50 games this season with the Marlins before being designated for assignment, where he posted a 6-2 record, a 3.99 ERA, and 33 strikeouts. This was after he had a 2-1 record, a 4.66 ERA, and 28 strikeouts during this past season with the St. Teams looking for more pitching depth could consider taking a flier on King with a waiver claim.

He has a decent amount of MLB experience and could be a solid pickup for another team's bullpen. In 264 career MLB games over seven seasons split between the Texas Rangers, Cardinals, and Marlins, King has posted a 22-16 record, a 3.83 ERA, and 198 strikeouts. Overall, he has had a solid career as a relief pitcher, and it will be interesting to see if another team adds him because of it.
