Along with its three newly acquired titles – 'Sevens,' 'Queerstory,' 'Dad & Me,' MIAM! announced new collaborations with indie producers Have a Nice Day Films, Les Astronautes, Hauteville Productions and Girelle Production As Unifrance Rendez-Vous kicked out yesterday and with its sales team attending, MIAM! Distribution unveiled earlier today the acquisition of two new animated TV series and a 52-minute TV special, the latest addition to a carefully curated catalogue marked by MIAM! distribution’s editorial ambition: to champion distinctive creative voices and stories, rooted in the lived experiences of their creator. Spanning three different target groups and three distinct formats, these productions fully embody MIAM!’s commitment to accompany stories that matter.
With universal, impactful themes resonate with audiences worldwide. As Rose, an average middle-school girl, decides to launch a female rugby sports team at her school, she and the girls joining her begin to build powerful bonds of friendship, solidarity and sisterhood. They learn to trust themselves, and to trust others.” This collective adventure is the heart of “Sevens,” centering on how sport can empower young people, build confidence, proving that strength, courage and leadership have no gender.
Currently in development with France Télévisions, with an expected delivery by the end of 2028, the show is co-directed by Guillaume Lorin, award-winning director of the TV special “Vanille,” and Vinnie Ann Bose, director of the César-nominated short “Suliamani.” A bold young adults 20×6-minutes doc series bringing forgotten queer myths to the spotlight, “Queerstory” blends humor, documented historical sources and experts’ takes to share queer tales whose voices have too often been erased from history. From the truth behind Thor’s hammer and the goddess Amaterasu to Princess Badoure from One Thousand and One Nights, the show restores these legends to their rightful place in our collective memory. Driven by the distinctive voice of its creator Iris Miské and blending rough-edged graphic design with bold pop-culture references, the series combines sharp pacing, clever punchlines and compelling storytelling, inviting a broad audience to rediscover history through fresh, inclusive perspectives.
A 52-minute coming-of-age TV special produced by Have a Nice Day Films and Les Astronautes, “Dad & Me” follows Alyona and her father Fiodor as they leave their Russian village to settle in Paris. On her very first day at school, Alyona cannot understand a single word of French, making friendship seem impossible. But when a rap competition unexpectedly brings her together with two classmates, she gradually finds her place between two cultures and discovers a new way to express herself.
With her father by her side, every challenge can become an adventure. The special will be delivered in July 2027, and premiere on France Télévisions. These three productions join a catalogue of 33 programs handled by MIAM!
