Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko called out some of the more vocal part of the Aggies fan base after Saturday's loss to Missouri.

The Texas A&M Aggies have been disappointing this season, and their head coach expressed his dissatisfaction with some of the fan base following his team's 27-6 loss to Missouri on the road on Saturday. After making the College Football Playoff last season, the Aggies entered the season with a No. 8 ranking and ambitions of returning to the CFP in head coach Mike Elko's third year with the program. Texas A&M has struggled in SEC play, losing three of their first four conference contests (Kentucky, LSU, and Mizzou).

Texas A&M's offense fell flat against No. 14 Missouri on Saturday. The Aggies were outgained 399-216 in total yards by the Tigers. Aggies fans voiced displeasure with the offense and quarterback Marcel Reed amid the 3-3 start.

Elko didn't hold back, saying he didn't care for Billy Liucci's fans at TexAgs. "There's a difference to me between the fan base and social media," Elko said.

"So there's one group that I really don't care much about. Billy's cesspool (at TexAgs) can go be Billy's cesspool. "Our fan base, stay with us, be behind us.

We're going to build something that we told you we were going to build. So we're in a really bad spot right now, but we'll work our way out of it." Those comments didn't raise the spirits of A&M fans on social media. Then again, Elko didn't care what they were going to say to his response.

Elko had quick success with Texas A&M, and he signed a contract extension last November that will keep him under contract with the program through 2031. He's safe this season, but the results this season have strained the relationship with some of Texas A&M's fan base. Elko is 22-10 overall and 13-7 in SEC play during his time with the Aggies.
