Opal Records, the label founded by the legendary musician-producer Brian Eno in 1988, is returning after more than three decades. The relaunch is beginning with the reissue of two Eno albums: “Another Day on Earth” (2005) and his collaboration with J. Peter Schwalm, “Drawn From Life” (2001), both unavailable outside of Japan for nearly 20 years.

New releases are also planned. In its first run between 1988 and 1991, Opal released albums by Brian Eno, Roger Eno, Harold Budd, Laraaji, Djivan Gasparyan, Hugo Largo, Zvuki Mu, Daniel Lanois, Jon Hassell and John Cale. Eno put the label on hiatus in 1991 to concentrate on his own work, and the catalogue moved across to All Saints Records. + Columbia Records has announced the appointment of Corey “C-Notes” Calder as SVP, Marketing & Head of Urban Music Marketing.

Prior to joining Columbia, Calder served as Head of Marketing and Creative at Artist Partner Group and President of Marketing and A&R Research at Think It’s a Game Records. His career also includes roles at Warner Records, Apple, Beats Music, Wasserman and the Los Angeles Clippers.

She succeeds Tracy Maddux, who was appointed as interim leader of the business following the passing of founding CEO Peter Sinclair in August 2025.

Maddux will continue to support the company through this leadership transition, and both he and Gleeson have been appointed to serve on the beatBread board of directors. I’ve spent much of my career focused on what independent artists will need next, and access to better capital on artist-friendly terms is one of the most important opportunities ahead.” + Primary Wave Music has announced a partnership with singer, songwriter, and producer Daniel Jones of Savage Garden. Under the agreement, Primary Wave will partner with Jones on his songwriting catalog across Savage Garden’s two studio albums, including the group’s hits “I Want You,” “To the Moon and Back,” and “Truly Madly Deeply.” Primary Wave’s Mark Shimmel says, “Having followed the Australian music scene for many years, it’s a privilege to help bring Daniel Jones and his incredible catalogue of songs into the Primary Wave family.” + Austin, Texas-based lt-rock band Culture Wars have signed with the·Team for worldwide booking representation, led by EVP Marty Diamond, VP Andrew Buck, SVP Adele Slater, and VP Ryan Penty.
