Myles Garrett put together a historic season in 2025, setting the new single-season sack record with 23. As such, he was recognized with unanimous Defensive Player of the Year honors at the end of the season. Garrett recently secured another honor: No. 1 position in the 2026 NFL Top 100 rankings.
The annual list is voted on by the league's active players, who view Garrett as the best player in the game. On Tuesday, the NFL posted a video of Garrett's reaction to learning he was voted the No. 1 player in the league. The two-time DPOY was particularly touched by personal messages from Micah Parsons, Will Anderson Jr. and Maxx Crosby.
"It feels special, especially from those last two. It means a lot coming from Maxx, too. He's been a brother to me for years now," Garrett said.
"It means a lot coming from all these guys at the very tops of their game." Garrett is now entering a new chapter of his NFL career. Earlier this offseason, the Cleveland Browns sent him to Los Angeles in a blockbuster trade with the Rams. Los Angeles will open up its season with a Week 1 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia on Thursday night.
