'Trauma Code' has landed a renewal for its second and third seasons.

Netflix has confirmed that breakout medical drama _The Trauma Code_: _Heroes on Call_ will return for two more seasons, following a hugely successful debut season at the beginning of last year (via What’s On Netflix). An adaptation of **Lee Nak Jun**‘s _Severe Trauma Center: Golden Hour_ web series, _Trauma Code_ follows a renowned trauma surgeon named Baek Kang-hyuk, who is hired to bring life to s truggling university hospital. The show found huge success on Netflix in 2025, breaking out of its home country and climbing the streamer’s international charts throughout the year.

Netflix reported that _Trauma Code_‘s first season received 43.6 views throughout its lifetime; it also reached No. 1 on the Top 10 Global Shows chart. Stars **Ju Ji Hoon**, **Choo Young Woo**, **Yoon Kyung Ho** and **Jung Jae Kwang** will all reprise their roles from the first season, with several other additions reportedly joining the main cast—and countless guest stars inevitably appearing as patients and staff members at this hectic hospital environment. Crucially, Netflix has also confirmed that **Jeong Ye In** will replace **Ha Young** in her role as Cheon Jang Mi after the actor was forced to step back from the series due to an alleged controversy involving her family’s reported pro-Japanese ties.

The character will remain in the show with Jeong Ye In simply adopting the role instead. Netflix has also released the first official synopsis for _Trauma Code_‘s second and third seasons: “In the new seasons, the group will demonstrate stronger teamwork to save patients in even more desperate situations. Faced with greater crises and unexpected circumstances, Kang-hyuk strives to expand and stabilize an effective trauma system to save lives.” _Trauma Code_‘s renewal will come as somewhat of a surprise for international fans, as Netflix is typically very quick to renew shows that have been successful.

Waiting almost two years from the first season’s premiere, even taking into account the busy year that Netflix has had, seemed like a clear sign that _Trauma Code_ was being left behind. But on the contrary, the streamer clearly has faith in this breakout drama, making up for the long wait with not one, but two new seasons.
