Seattle Seahawks fans can breathe a sigh of relief — this won’t be another SuperSonics situation. Seahawks owner Vinod Khosla took to X to set the record straight: the NFL team isn’t going anywhere. Seattle has been through the ringer when it’s come from not only having profession sports teams ripped away from them, but has had the prospect of perhaps obtaining an NBA team dangled in front of them like a carrot on a string (looking at you, Sacramento Kings) so it’s safe to say fans are easily rattled.
You know, the one that was distorted. During an interview with Axios, Kholsa was asked “you’ve talked about being a steward of the Seahawks and preserving what Paul Allen built. But I don’t think you’ve formally committed to keeping the team in Seattle long-term.
Will you make that commitment?” His response was about as confusing as it can get. Will this team be in Seattle 500 years from now? I have no current plans to change anything about the team, including the coach, president, operation or Lumen Field.
It all functions well,” he said. At least until Khosla does another interview, Seahawks fans can rest easy… ish.
