New USC guard KJ Lewis was named the top transfer in the Big Ten conference ahead of the 2026-27 season. USC is the second program Lewis has transferred to after stints with Arizona and Georgetown. Lewis was a regular starter for Georgetown last season.
He earned All-Big East Third Team honors and led the team with an average of 14.9 points per game. "After two years coming off the bench at Arizona, Lewis had a breakout year as a full-time starter at Georgetown. He led the Hoyas in scoring, shooting 41 percent from the field.
Lewis had six games of at least 20 points, including 27 against St. While USC brings back a couple of high-scoring guards from last season, Lewis is a proven veteran who gives them even more firepower," Tristan Freeman of Hoops HQ wrote. In addition to Lewis, guard Jalen Cox was named a top transfer in the Big Ten.
Hoops HQ ranked Cox as the No. 8 transfer in the conference this season. Cox transferred to USC from Colgate, where he started in all 31 games last season. He earned an All-Patriot League First Team and an All-Defensive Team selection after leading his team in assists per game (5.3).
Both Lewis and Cox are going into their senior seasons and will bring valuable veteran experience to the Trojans' squad this season.
