The Kansas City Chiefs are being linked to Josh Downs and Brian Thomas Jr. with the trade deadline almost here.

The Kansas City Chiefs are being linked to two wide receivers with the NFL trade deadline approaching. According to ESPN's Ian Rapoport, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs and Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. are two players who the Chiefs could target ahead of the trade deadline. "I wouldn't be surprised if they add someone.

Names to keep an eye on: Josh Downs would be one, the Colts receiver, and then Brian Thomas Jr. if the Jaguars finally are willing to do it, would be another," Rapoport said about the Chiefs. Downs and Thomas being named potential trade targets for the Chiefs is entirely understandable. The Chiefs need to improve at the wide receiver position before the deadline, and landing either one of these players could help them do just that in a big way.

There is a real chance that Downs gets traded, as the Colts are major sellers right now. In seven games this season, the four-year NFL veteran has posted zero touchdowns, 26 receptions, and 307 receiving yards. This is after he had four touchdowns, 58 receptions, and 566 receiving yards in 16 games last season with the Colts.

Thomas, on the other hand, has posted one touchdown, nine receptions, and 105 receiving yards this season for Jacksonville. However, he has shown that he could be a star in the past, as he had 10 touchdowns and 1,282 receiving yards as a rookie in 2024 with the Jaguars. It will be interesting to see if the Chiefs trade for either of these two by the deadline.

They both look like good fits for the Chiefs on paper.
