The New Orleans Saints are set to play the New York Giants on Sunday for their Week 6 matchup. After losing each of their last three games, the Saints will be looking to get back in the win column against the Giants. However, as the Saints prepare for their game against the Giants, it has been revealed that quarterback Tyler Shough is dealing with a surprising injury.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Shough has been playing through two broken bones in his left hand. Schefter also reported that Shough suffered his injury against the Atlanta Falcons on Oct. 5. In addition, Schefter shared that the Saints quarterback's injury will take multiple weeks to heal, but he won't miss time.
While Shough does not throw with his left hand, this is still a notable injury for him to be playing through. It is also making him hand the ball off with his opposite hand, as Schefter noted. With the Saints looking to turn their season around, it is certainly unfortunate that Shough is dealing with this injury.
It will be interesting to see if the 27-year-old can help save the Saints' season despite being injured. In five games this season for the Saints, Shough has completed 66.8% of his passes and has thrown nine touchdowns, nine interceptions, and 1,299 yards.
