"NFL fined 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk $14,926 for engaging in an offensive demonstration Sunday vs. Juszczyk, nicknamed “Juice”, already has appealed the fine." Schefter wrote on Thursday.
Fans and media folk around the league alike came together to critique the NFL's decision to find the veteran fullback. Juszczyk claimed via Schefter in a follow up post that the chug was in reference to his nickname, "juice" and that he does not even drink beer. Future Hall of Famer J.J.
Watt also mentioned as such in response to Schefter's report. Teammate George Kittle also chimed in to the debate, confirming that his long-time teammate – now in their tenth year playing side-by-side – does not drink beer. The broader criticism that league faced specifically from fans concerned what many believe to be hypocrisy from the NFL, who chooses to fine players who make what they considered to be a celebration imitating drinking beer, yet the league itself has its own dedicated beer sponsor, Bud Light.
"He did that celebration and then the NFL immediately cut to a commercial for beer", the fantasy app Sleeper's X account posted as a reply. Other users claimed this makes the NFL seem "unserious".
