The Hawkeyes will try to pass another tough test when they host the Buckeyes in a Big Ten battle on Saturday afternoon

The 14th-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes look to pull off another big win in Big Ten action Saturday when they host the No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes at Kinnick Stadium. Iowa (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten) scored a touchdown on the final play as the Hawkeyes took down then-No. 14 Michigan in their conference opener Saturday in The Big House. The Buckeyes (3-1, 1-0) were the nation's top-ranked team before a 24-23 loss at Texas in Week 2, a win that vaulted the Longhorns to the No. 1 spot.

OSU has won seven of the past eight meetings, including a 35-7 rout in Columbus in the most recent matchup in October 2024. We are taking an in-depth look at Ohio State vs. Iowa and some of the college football bets you can make at top sports betting apps for this Big Ten showdown.

The Buckeyes shouldn't be surprised by anything the Hawkeyes do, and the visitors have designs on getting back to the College Football Playoff. OSU lost to Miami in the quarterfinals last season, but quarterback Julian Sayin has a full season under his belt and he's throwing to the current Heisman Trophy favorite, receiver Jeremiah Smith. The junior has at least 150 receiving yards in three of the four games (he had 85 in a rout of Kent State).

That includes 217 in last week's 42-19 victory against Illinois, when Ohio State outgained the Illini 527-134. Sayin threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns, all to Smith. The quarterback also ran for 29 yards, while running backs Ja'Kobi Jackson and Bo Jackson both topped 50 as the Buckeyes rushed for 151.
