The big news in products over here was Esquire’s Gadget Awards. These awards, though wholly subjective based on our definitions of what is new and noteworthy, are actually quite massive undertakings. To chronicle and argue for and against all the tech that has been released in the past 12 months—from doing iPhone Duo vs. the iPhone Pro, to toying with pocket knives—ain’t easy.
So when that story went live this week, it was a product weight off my shoulders. I could finally focus on the frivolous fashion stuff I always try to seek out. And what a week it was for the frivolous fashion stuff.
Top of that list were two footwear collabs. First, we have the latest edition of On and Loewe. It is, per usual, pretty great.
These collabs are a big reason I have come to really like On as a company—the other reason being it has Thierry Henry as its main soccer category development voice. The second collab is Ugg and JW Anderson. Personally, I cannot abide, but I would love to see someone wearing these freaky things out in the wild.
Other than that, it was a pretty standard week in what’s new. Scroll what we’re shopping and grab something for yourself. I’ve been really, really obsessed with impeccably cut gray business suits recently.
