The minor teasers that have surfaced thus far have made it clear that the upcoming season's theme will be an anime-pirate mash-up, and its main focus will be treasure hunting. Epic Games has finally decided to pull the curtain back on the mini-season, and it's everything fans have been waiting for. Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 is coming to an end on Nov. 1.
Downtime will begin to prepare for the launch of the mini-season, which should last about a month before a brand-new chapter begins. In the past few days, Epic Games has been using social media to create hype for Oct. 24, promising a big reveal at 2 p.m. The community has been eagerly awaiting more news on the next mini-season, as rumors point towards a major One Piece crossover.
As far as Fortnite collaborations go, One Piece is among the most requested, so it's safe to say fans would be disappointed if the upcoming pirate-themed season didn't at least include a few skins from the series. A few hours before the reveal, Fortnite shared the name of the new season in a short teaser: Treasure Hunters. An in-game news feed image unveiled more details, showing several pirate crew logos, among them Peely, A$AP Rocky, Hatsune Miku, Kasane Teto, and Lil Uzi Vert.
Players didn't have much time to decipher who the other logos belonged to, as the big announcement went live: One Piece is, in fact, coming to Fortnite next season. The teaser shows the Going Merry, the Straw Hat Pirates' first ship, emerge from the fog, revealing what fans have been waiting for the past few weeks. It also confirms that Fortnite is collaborating with the One Piece anime rather than the Netflix series, as the boat's figurehead depicted in the show is slightly different.
This was expected considering various anime-style characters appeared in previous teasers. Fans can now rest easy because soon enough they will get access to the collaboration they've been anticipating for years. Fortnite Treasure Hunters begins Sunday, Nov. 1, after downtime.
Gamers still have a few days to finish the current Battle Pass and prepare for this exciting new season.
