ESPN ranked the top 50 players in the WNBA, and just one player beat out Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark for the top spot.

Many would argue that Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark is the face of the WNBA. The league has arguably never been more loaded with elite talent with stars like Paige Bueckers, Azzi Fudd, Angel Reese, Olivia Miles, Napheesa Collier, Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, and several others putting up head-turning numbers. With the WNBA season winding down, ESPN ranked the top 50 players in the league right now – and Clark came in at No. 2 on the list.

That would be Las Vegas Aces center A’ja Wilson, an eight-time All-Star, four-time MVP, three-time Defensive Player of the Year and WNBA champion, and two-time WNBA Finals MVP. Statistically, she has done everything needed to be on track to win her fifth MVP award. The defending champion Aces aren't the top team in the league right now, but Wilson is still the top player.” Wilson is the current favorite to win WNBA MVP (-1000 odds) while Clark is third (+3500).

However, the Iowa alum has been gaining momentum in the MVP race. WIth just five regular-season games left, it’s unlikely Clark can close the gap, however, she can make things interesting. Finishing runner-up in the MVP race in just her third season would be a nice feather in Clark’s cap.

But nothing would compare if Clark led the Fever to a WNBA championship. It would mark just the second title in franchise history.
