Parker Posey will star in the upcoming horror movie “Sleepover” from Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Universal Pictures, Variety can reveal exclusively. The film hits theaters on Oct. 8, 2027. Further casting and plot details remain under wraps.

Posey, known for recent work in films like “Thelma” and “Beau Is Afraid,” as well as the third season of HBO’s “White Lotus,” is no stranger to the horror genre. She had a standout turn as the eccentric up-and-coming star Jennifer Jolie in 2000’s “Scream 3,” and played the villainous vampire CEO Danica Talos in 2004’s “Blade: Trinity.” Posey can soon be seen in Martin McDonagh’s “Wild Horse Nine,” which premiered at the 2026 Venice Film Festival. Starring John Malkovich and Sam Rockwell, the Searchlight film is set for release on Nov. 6.

She also hosts the upcoming reality competition series “The Mob,” which debuts on Hulu on Oct. 26. Chase, McGuire and Bea Sequeira serve as executive producers, with Lilly Tyson overseeing the project. Blumhouse Atomic Monster also produced Chase’s “Insidious: Out of the Further.” The sixth installment in the long-running franchise opened in August to a solid $60 million worldwide and went on to gross $169 million against a slim $18 million budget.

Chase’s previous directing credits include the 2020 horror movie “Come Play” and the Peacock original series “The Girl and the Woods.” Posey is represented by CAA, Entertainment 360, Yorn, Levine, Barnes, Krintzman, Rubenstein, Kohner, Endlich, Goodell & Gellman and Independent Public Relations.
