New England Patriots wide receiver Efton Chism III has decided to take the “sticks and stones” route when asked about the cheap shot taken at him by Buffalo Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson referred to Chism as a “practice squad player” after the WR made the game-winning catch that put the Patriots over the Bills on Sunday. According to Gardner-Johnson, it was a catch that “probably won’t happen again,” USA Today reported. ”He’s a great player,” the young WR said.
I got a bunch of respect for him, but we’re excited for this week, looking forward to the Raiders.” Fans on X took note of Chism’s classy responses. ”Killed em with kindness and smoked em on the field. Man I love this dude even more now,” one person said. ”Spoken like a true professional,” another commented. Despite Gardner-Johnson’s shade, plenty of others are praising Chism’s catch, including former Patriots receiver Julian Edelman, who said that more eyes will be on the WR after that specific catch.
