Due to the rapid evolution of digital media, digital platforms pose a regulatory and self-regulatory challenge. This study aims to examine patterns of exposure to traditional and digital channels of alcohol marketing and their association with current alcohol use among adults in Thailand using a multi-province cross-sectional survey. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among adults in Thailand across five designated provinces representing Thailand’s major geographical regions: Bangkok (central), Chonburi (eastern), Chiang Mai (northern), Nakhon Ratchasima (northeastern), and Nakhon Si Thammarat (southern).

Data were collected and analysed using Stata version 17. Descriptive statistics were computed. Design-based bivariable analysis (F(df), Rao-Scott chi-square test) and complex-survey logistic regression analysis, incorporating sampling weights, 15 Primary Sampling Units (PSUs) and 5 Strata (df = 10), were employed to evaluate the association between current drinking (drank/did not drink in the last 12 months) and exposure to alcohol marketing over the past 30 days.

Complex survey logistic regression analysis, incorporating sampling weights, with 15 Primary Sampling Units (PSUs) and 5 Strata (df = 10), was employed to evaluate the association between digital alcohol marketing exposure and sociodemographic characteristics. Association was declared at P-value
