Phoebe Bridgers‘ new album Lost Weekend is finally here, and the singer-songwriter celebrated the release by dropping a music video for “I Can’t Wait.” The album highlight, placed towards the end of the track list, features Geese frontman Cameron Winter on backing vocals. (At least, we’re about 99 percent sure it does. He’s technically listed in the credits as “Son-John Johnson,” and he made a joke about having to call his lawyer when we asked him.) The video, directed by Chris Maggio and Pablo Rochat, features a day in Los Angeles from the perspective of a bug — hiding inside guitars and soaring above liquor stores, supermarkets, and the Glendale roller rink Bridgers recently threw an album listening party at. (In between, she and her boygenius pals released The Record in 2023.) In addition to “I Can’t Wait,” she released a video for her single “Lost Boys” earlier this summer, then performed it twice during surprise appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, once with young musicians, and a second time with a group of veteran musicians that included the legendary Dan Reeder.
Next month, Bridgers will launch the Lost Tour, kicking off on Sept. 15 in Indianapolis. Fine-art photographer Gregory Crewdson captured the tour flyer. Similar to the intimate acoustic shows she recently surprised fans with across the country — and her jaw-dropping, fantastic Madison Square Garden performance in June — the trek will be phoneless.
In the meantime, Bridgers’ fans can experience Lost Weekend in planetariums across North America.
