Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers was not on the field for the open media portion of practice on Wednesday. Later in the afternoon, a report from NFL insiders Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport shed some light onto why that was the case. Bowers underwent a meniscus trim procedure in Dallas on Tuesday, repairing an injury that he sustained during training camp.
The injury was diagnosed and the surgery was scheduled sometime last week. Bowers, who missed five games due to injury in 2025, is now expected to miss "a game or two" to open up the Raiders' 2026 campaign. Bowers played through lingering knee injury issues throughout the 2025 season, dealing with a PCL pull and bone bruise.
He was limited through his 12 game appearances, reeling in 64 catches for 680 yards and seven touchdowns. As the Raiders' No. 13 overall draft pick the year prior, Bowers had 112 catches for 1,194 yards and five scores. The Raiders will open up their 2026 regular-season schedule with a Week 1 matchup against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
