NFL cutdowns continued with the Las Vegas Raiders dumping a veteran before the 2026 season. The Raiders released Noah Brown on Monday afternoon, eight days after signing the 30-year-old wide receiver. Brown has played for three different NFL teams in eight seasons.
The former seventh-round pick tallied 980 yards in 66 games over five years with the Dallas Cowboys, but he mostly worked on special teams. After collecting nine catches through his first two seasons, Brown missed all of 2019 due to knee injuries. He eventually assumed a larger role in 2022, registering a career-high 43 catches and his only three touchdowns with Dallas.
Brown then jumped to the Houston Texans, posting a career-high 567 receiving yards in his lone season despite injuring his back in his team debut. The former Ohio State standout notched 153 yards and a touchdown in a Week 9 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 172 yards in the next game. Brown then missed the next two games and later suffered a shoulder injury during the playoffs that required offseason surgery.
He returned to the NFC East to play for the Washington Commanders, accruing 453 yards and a touchdown in 2024. Injuries once again struck last year when Brown missed all but four games due to groin and knee issues. He didn't make a major impact while on the field, catching five of 10 targets for 83 yards.
Joining a young Raiders receiving corps seemed to give Brown another chance to earn NFL reps. Tre Tucker led the team with 696 receiving yards last season, and they haven't added another established veteran after Jakobi Meyers joined the Jacksonville Jaguars.
