The Los Angeles Rams hosted three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald for the second time this week, hinting a reunion could be soon made official. However, Rams head coach Sean McVay isn't so sure about that. McVay was recently asked by reporters for an update on Donald's decision and his answer was not very promising.
That doesn't mean there won't be a reunion at all, though. Many questioned why Donald even worked out for a second time given the familiarity between both sides. But McVay revealed it was less about the team deciding whether it wants to bring Donald back and more about him deciding if it's the right move for him.
It’s part of his process that he’s going through. It just allows us to be able to use football equipment and it’s very similar to what the other workout was. . . That was just another part of his process.” It's unclear when Donald is planning to make a decision, but it must be very intriguing for him to come out of retirement.
It's not everyday a player of Donald's caliber has the chance to team up with another two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year in Myles Garrett. A first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Donald has 542 tackles, 111 sacks, 24 forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries and 21 passes defensed in his professional career.
