Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers reeled in five catches for 150 yards and one touchdowns through less than two quarters of action in Sunday's Week 1 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. On his fifth grab of the game, Flowers suffered a hamstring injury that held him off the field for the remainder of the contest. Fortunately for the Ravens, this injury doesn't appear to be a long-term issue.
According to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Flowers would have returned to the field had it been a playoff game. "Ravens WR Zay Flowers, who left Sunday’s win over the Colts early, suffered a hamstring injury that is not considered serious, sources say. He’ll have an MRI, but if it was a playoff game, he likely would’ve returned.
Flowers is considered day-to-day heading into testing," Rapoport reported. While Flower's injury does not appear serious, his status for Sunday's Week 2 matchup against the Saints is still in jeopardy. NFL insider Adam Schefter says it may be "unrealistic" to think Flowers will take the field this coming weekend.
"With a hamstring injury you miss a little bit of time," Schefter said on Monday. "It doesn't sound overly serious for Zay Flowers but to think he's gonna be out there this week is probably unrealistic.” Sunday's game against the Saints will kick off at 1 p.m.
