Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, Zay Flowers, Mark Andrews, Ronnie Stanley, Nnamdi Madubuike, Roquan Smith, Marlon Humphrey, and Kyle Hamilton are all returning, as quite literally every cornerstone piece on the roster from the last couple of seasons stuck around this offseason. John Harbaugh, Zach Orr, Todd Monken, and Chris Horton are all gone, however, with the coaching staff undergoing major changes that include new head coach Jesse Minter, defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, and offensive coordinator Declan Doyle. Johnson and Payton served as the primary play-callers during those stints, so even though he was working with them closely as a game-planner he doesn’t have the experience of what he’ll actually be doing for Jackson, Henry, Flowers, and co. "I totally get the shock value of it," Doyle said of his age and relative inexperience after he was hired by Baltimore, "because people compare it to whatever their experience is with 30-year-olds. I've approached this as my profession for 11 years.
There's a lot of nights that you were in bed while I was working." If he can burst onto the scene and use that experience working under offensive geniuses and some serious firepower to his advantage, this team might actually be able to take a step forward. If he can’t, it could be another disappointing season in Baltimore.
