Rosanne Cash, the eldest daughter of the late country music icon Johnny Cash and his first wife, Vivian Liberto, has postponed three upcoming shows after suffering a “medical emergency.” The news was announced Monday by the 71-year-old Grammy winner’s management team in a statement shared on the singer’s Instagram. This restriction is impacting her upcoming Wyoming and Montana shows. Rosanne deeply regrets the cancellation and looks forward to rescheduling appearances.” The Independent has contacted Cash’s representatives for more details about the medical emergency.

The second image in Cash’s post lists the postponed dates as September 8 in Sheridan, Wyoming; September 9 in Billings, Montana; and September 10 in Bozeman, Montana. New dates for the postponed shows have not yet been arranged. The “Seven Year Ache” singer is next scheduled to perform in Jonesboro, Arkansas, on September 19.

Cash is the eldest of three sisters: Kathy, Cindy, and Tara. Her parents divorced in 1966. She made her studio recording debut on her father’s 1974 album The Junkie and the Juicehead Minus Me, singing lead vocal on a version of Kris Kristofferson’s “Broken Freedom Song.” She has gone on to produce 15 studio albums, earning four Grammy Awards and a further 12 nominations.

Speaking to The Independent ahead of her latest album in 2024, Cash said candidly: “I’m not young anymore, and time is really precious, and I just think about everything I was inspired by, and who’s still around, and just how precious that is. I felt a real need to do it like that, whether it sold or not, and now I want to do something that’s really stripped down and simple. John and I have had a lot of conversations about that,” she added, referring to her husband, musician John Leventhal.

The couple celebrated 30 years of marriage last year. Today’s the day I stop trying to make him think like me.” The pair shares five children: daughters Hannah, Caitlin, Chelsea and Carrie, and son Jakob. Join thought-provoking conversations, follow other Independent readers and see their replies
