Will Olivia Rodrigo and Stevie Nicks bring their musical talents to “Practical Magic 2?” Star Sandra Bullock seemed to teased the two pop stars’ involvement in the Warner Bros. sequel in a post on her Instagram Story Sunday morning. Along with a video of Rodrigo and Nicks performing together, Bullock wrote, “Angel voices that are part of an upcoming film….” Reps for Nicks, Rodrigo and Warner Bros. did not immediately respond to Variety’s request for comment. Nicks had two songs in the original “Practical Magic,” both produced by Sheryl Crow.
During Saturday’s Daisy Chain Fields music festival, Rodrigo brought out Nicks to perform the 1975 Fleetwood Mac classic “Landslide.” “She reminds me of me, when I was her age a hundred years ago,” Nicks said of Rodrigo after taking the stage. Because it’s so hard, you have no idea, putting this together with all of these people. And she’s done it, with this grace.” “Practical Magic 2,” which sees the return of original star Nicole Kidman alongside Bullock, hits theaters on Sept. 11.
Directed by “Bird Box” filmmaker Susanne Bier, the fantasy drama follows Bullock’s Sally, Kidman’s Gillian and their family of witches as they attempt to break a curse that has haunted them for generations. Other cast members include Stockard Channing, Dianne Wiest, Cassie Bradley, Joey King, Maisie Williams and Lee Pace. Akiva Goldsman, Georgia Pritchett and Kelly Marcel penned the script.
The original “Practical Magic” hit theaters in 1998 to lukewarm reception. However, the film grew a cult following once it came to home video.
