Seahawks Have Big Injury Update on Key Running Back

newsweek.com 14.10.2026 22:13 6 views
The Seattle Seahawks are expected to have a key running back return from an injury before playing the Chiefs in Week 7.

The Seattle Seahawks have been without Jadarian Price since the running back was placed on injured reserve for a chest injury before Week 4. Price, a first-round pick in this year's draft, was expected to be the main running back at least until Zach Charbonnet could return after suffering a torn ACL in the Seahawks' win over the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round. But the injury to Price has caused a more immediate need for the backfield.

Price will be out until at least Nov. 2 when the Seahawks host the Chicago Bears on "Monday Night Football" in Week 8. Per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Seahawks believe Charbonnet has a "legitimate chance" to suit up when Seattle hosts the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7.

Charbonnet's return for Week 7 would be enticing for the Seahawks, as the Chiefs signed former Seattle running back Kenneth Walker III in free agency. Walker is second in the league in rushing with 537 yards this season (trailing Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson by 43 yards despite the Chiefs having a bye in Week 5). Earlier in the week, Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald hinted Charbonnet would not play Thursday night's matchup with the Denver Broncos.

"The plan right now isn't for sure for him to play," Macdonald said, via the Seahawks' website. "That could change, but as of right now, he's not going to play." With their top two options out, the Seahawks have leaned on Emanuel Wilson the last two weeks. He's carried the ball 73 times for 251 yards and two touchdowns.

The Seahawks will enter Thursday night's game having lost two of their last three games. Seattle rushed 18 times for 44 yards in the loss to the Washington Commanders in Week 3 and rushed 26 times for 89 yards in the loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5.
