The Seattle Seahawks are preparing for another Super Bowl run.

The Seattle Seahawks are continuing to load up on defense by adding yet another highly-regarded player to their secondary. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Seahawks are signing two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs to a one-year deal. Diggs, 27, began the 2025 season with the Dallas Cowboys, but he was later released by the team after being placed on injured reserve due to lingering concussion symptoms.

Diggs was then claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers and made two appearances for the team in their regular season finale and Wild Card game, recording three total tackles. However, the Packers released Diggs after the season, setting him up to join his third team in the NFL. It's surprising to see Diggs' career falloff as of late.

He began his career as the No. 51 overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft and quickly established himself as one of the best cornerbacks in the league after recording a career-high and league-leading 11 interceptions in 2021. From 2020-25, Diggs racked up 240 tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, 63 passes defensed, 20 interceptions and two touchdowns. Unfortunately, injuries began to pile up and he hasn't been the same player since.

Diggs doesn't have to be the alpha in Seattle's secondary, though. He joins a unit that already includes cornerbacks Devon Witherspoon and Josh Jobe and safeties Nick Emmanwori and Ty Okada. A native of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Diggs played college football at Alabama, where he had 68 tackles, two forced fumbles, 17 passes defensed, four interceptions and one touchdown from 2016-19.
