The Los Angeles Rams suffered a gutting 30-26 loss to the Denver Broncos on "Sunday Night Football," blowing a 16-0 halftime lead. Denver stormed back with two third-quarter touchdowns before Talanoa Hufanga picked off Matthew Stafford and returned it 66 yards for a go-ahead score. Stafford answered with a 48-yard bomb touchdown to Konata Mumpfield, but a controversial pass interference call kept Denver's final drive alive, and Bo Nix punched in the game-winner with 47 seconds left.
Hufanga sealed it on the other end with a second interception on the Rams' last-ditch effort. But one of the biggest storylines to come out of the game was the status of Rams tight end Terrance Ferguson, who suffered an ankle injury in the loss. Head coach Sean McVay said the injury is serious enough that Ferguson is now expected to miss Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

It was his best game as a pro, drawing a career-high nine targets with Puka Nacua out due to injury. Nacua's absence has become a storyline of its own.
He first dealt with a core muscle (psoas) injury during training camp in August, then was sidelined again in September with a groin injury that head coach Sean McVay said was unrelated to the earlier issue. The groin injury kept him out of Week 2 against the Giants. With Nacua out that week, Ferguson emerged as Matthew Stafford's No. 2 option behind Davante Adams, who now has 358 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 18 catches through the first three weeks.
But if Ferguson misses next week's matchup against the Eagles, it will put more pressure on the Rams' remaining tight ends: Colby Parkinson (who is also nursing a shoulder injury), Davis Allen, and Tyler Higbee. Ferguson was the Rams' second-round pick in 2025 and had a strong rookie season, posting 231 receiving yards and three touchdowns on just 11 catches, averaging a whopping 21 yards per catch.
