The indie-sleaze-tinted pop upstart Sombr is emerging as one of those young stars who attract a lot of attention and praise from their rock elders, like Yungblud or Andrew Watt. In particular, Lindsey Buckingham has been taking a liking to him. In April, Buckingham praised Sombr in a video about staying open to music: "I love Sombr.

I think he's extremely talented, especially for being only 20 years old." Then, in August, the ex-Fleetwood Mac guitarist presented Sombr with the Songwriter Of The Year Award at Variety's Power Of Young Hollywood event, touting Sombr's creative vision and mentioning how much he liked both the singer and the song when he first heard "Back To Friends" early last year. In a press availability around the event, Buckingham said they'd been in touch and Sombr had talked about Buckingham's influence in his own music. "There is a great deal of excellent new music," he said, "and Sombr being at the top of the heap." Now they've taken the stage together.

Saturday night at the Kia Forum in LA, Sombr brought out Buckingham to perform the Rumours classic "Go Your Own Way" (after earlier welcoming spiritual forebear Jesse Rutherford to the stage to sing the Neighbourhood's "Sweater Weather"). Check out footage of Buckingham's cameo and various clips of the O.G. praising the new kid below. In other Sombr news, earlier Saturday he released a star-studded alternate version of his single "Homewrecker," recorded live at LA's famed recording studio Sound City.

Naturally, it's called "Homewrecker (Reimagined Live From Sound City)." It features Nickel Creek (the bluegrass-pop trio of Chris Thile, Sara Watkins, and Sean Watkins), Benny Bock (keyboardist on the new Phoebe Bridgers and Beabadoobee albums), and Sebastian Steinberg (bassist for Soul Coughing, Fiona Apple, and the Nickel Creek offshoot Watkins Family Hour).
