Formula 1 heads to a brand-new street circuit in Madrid for the Spanish Grand Prix - the final European race of the season. The high-speed track has got everyone talking and will be a huge challenge for the drivers, including championship leader Kimi Antonelli who won last time out in Monza. Antonelli went from 19th to first to extend his lead over George Russell to 66 points, Lewis Hamilton to 76 points and Lando Norris to 96 points.
Russell, Hamilton and Norris will be looking to hit back on a track where Mercedes are not expected to have the advantage which saw them claim a one-two at Monza. The final round of the 2026 Formula 3 Championship takes place in Madrid with three races, while Formula 2 is also in action on what promises to be an action-packed weekend. The new 3.365 Madring street-track layout is very fast and includes a big banked corner which is at 24 per cent gradient, so the drivers are set to be challenged just to keep it out of the barriers this weekend.
Hamilton says overtaking will be difficult so Saturday's qualifying and track position will be critical. The current weather forecast suggests rain will not affect the on-track action in Madrid with sunny skies across all three days of running and air temperatures at around 32C.
