Stephen Curry gave fans another highlight to remember after sending Luka Doncic to the floor during the Golden State Warriors' NBA Cup clash against the Los Angeles Lakers. The moment came midway through the third quarter at Chase Center. Curry isolated Doncic, used a series of dribbling moves to create space, and stepped back for a three-pointer.
The Lakers star lost his balance and fell as Curry knocked down the shot. Even the Warriors guard appeared surprised by what had happened. He put his hands on his head before running back on defense, while the crowd erupted.
Speaking after Golden State's 112-95 victory, Curry admitted he had not expected the play to become such a viral moment. And I remember James Harden had to do like the shimmy to get himself going back in the day. I don't know, I've haven't been that open in a long time,” Curry said.
Curry also explained why he continues to enjoy these moments so much, particularly at this stage of his career. All my mannerisms are just all over the place cause I'm just having fun. And I want that joy to continue until I'm done,” he added. The highlight came during a remarkable Warriors comeback. Golden State trailed by as many as 25 points after the opening quarter but recovered to secure a 17-point victory.
Curry led the way with 31 points, six assists and eight three-pointers. Doncic finished with 37 points, seven rebounds and five assists for Los Angeles.
