The final round of the regular Super League season is over, we have whittled the competition down to six, and we now know exactly who will fight who for a place in the semi-finals. Wigan Warriors emphatically wrapped up a domestic double with a 50-12 win over Catalans Dragons to secure the League Leaders' Shield. That adds to their Challenge Cup win and now, they are on the hunt for the treble if they can win in the big dance at the Grand Final.
They now get a week's rest, as do Leeds Rhinos who finished second despite their final-round loss to Hull FC. Until we know the two teams who will do battle to win the trophy everyone has been hunting. The format now is simple. Third-place finisher Warrington will play Hull KR who finished sixth.
Fourth-placed Wakefield will take on fifth-place finisher Leigh for a place in the semi-finals. The lowest-ranked winner of those contests, so the team that finished lowest in the league table, will then take on Wigan Warriors. The other team will face Leeds Rhinos in the second semi-final.
The Eliminators will take place across Friday September 18 and Saturday September 19. Wakefield vs Leigh will take place on the Friday, with kick-off at 8pm live on Sky Sports. Warrington vs Hull KR then takes place on the Saturday at 5.30pm, also live on Sky Sports.
Wigan Warriors and Leeds Rhinos know they are in the semi-finals and know exactly which days they will be playing on across Friday September 25 and Saturday September 26. Leeds await their opponent for the Friday contest, with kick-off at 8pm. Wigan Warriors also wait patiently to know who they will face on the Saturday, with kick-off at 5.30pm.
