Disney Theatrical Group’s stage adaptation of “The Greatest Showman” will open at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London’s West End in Spring 2027, following a sold-out run at the Bristol Hippodrome. Oliver Tompsett and Samantha Barks will star as P.T. Barnum and Charity Barnum.
The musical is based on the 2017 20th Century Studios film “The Greatest Showman,” with story by Jenny Bicks. It marks the first 20th Century Studios title, formerly 20th Century Fox, to be adapted for the stage by Disney Theatrical Group. The Seelig Group, a producer of the original film, is also producing the musical.
The production features songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, a book by Tim Federle and direction and choreography by Casey Nicholaw. The score includes “The Greatest Show,” “A Million Dreams,” “Come Alive,” “Rewrite the Stars,” “Never Enough” and the Golden Globe Award-winning “This Is Me,” alongside new songs written for the stage. Joining Tompsett and Barks in the company are Ben Joyce as Phillip Carlyle, Vajèn van den Bosch as Jenny Lind and Malinda Parris as Lettie Lutz.

Quart and Flatt said the production stems from a collaboration among Pasek and Paul, who return with the show’s established songs alongside new numbers written for the stage; Federle, whose book reflects a love of theatre; and two-time Tony Award winner Nicholaw, who directs a cast led by Tompsett and Barks.
The musical continues Disney Theatrical Group’s longstanding relationship with LW Theatres’ Theatre Royal Drury Lane, which has hosted the company’s productions since the venue reopened following a restoration completed in 2021. Nicholaw’s production of “Hercules” is currently running at the venue. The creative team also includes Alex Lacamoire on music supervision and orchestrations, David Korins on scenic design, Gregg Barnes and Sky Switser on costume design, Natasha Katz on lighting design and Peter Hylenski on sound design.
